About

About PACFAIE

The Pan-Africa Center for AI Ethics (PACFAIE) helps governments, schools, newsrooms, and companies adopt AI responsibly, with a focus solely on Africa. We design practical training, publish applied research, and advise on policies that align local realities with global standards. Our courses centre on accountability, transparency, and human rights, with case studies from across the continent. Learners leave with tools they can use immediately — audit checklists, risk registers, and policy templates. We offer live sessions, recordings, and mentorship, and issue verifiable certificates. Our goal is simple: make AI work for people, communities, and public institutions.

What learners say

PACFAIE's 2024 AI Ethics Summer School turned AI ethics from theory into practice. I left with an audit checklist, a risk register, and a draft policy I used at work the next week.

The AI for Journalism sessions were rigorous and local. Case studies from African courts and ministries helped me design an accountability plan for my edtech pilot.

I finally understand how to evaluate AI systems for bias and transparency. The mentorship and templates made it easy to brief my newsroom and update our guidelines.
