AI is becoming part of health care: helping read X-rays, answering health questions on phones, and supporting health workers. It’s also used to spread fake cures and misuse health data. This free, short course helps you use health technology safely, protect your health information, and know your rights.
Who it’s for
Everyone: patients, parents, carers, young people, older people and community health volunteers. No medical or technical knowledge needed.
What you’ll learn
- How AI is used in health care.
- How to use symptom checkers and health chatbots safely, and when to seek care.
- What to ask when AI is part of your care.
- How to protect your health data.
- How to spot fake cures and health misinformation.
- Your rights as a patient and where to get help.
How it works
Six short modules, about 3.5 hours in total, with five-minute lessons, quick practice and a short check after each module. Practice activities use made-up people and services; real examples come from WHO, research studies and trusted reports.
This course doesn’t give medical advice. In an emergency, go to the nearest health facility or call your local emergency number.
Certificate
Finish all six modules to earn a certificate of completion and a badge you can share.
Certificate and badge
