Elections decide who governs. Today, artificial intelligence can create fake videos, cloned voices and false news in seconds, and scammers use election season to trick people. This free, short course helps every voter spot fakes, check what they see, protect themselves and know their rights.

Who it’s for

Every voter and future voter: young people voting for the first time, parents, elders, community and faith groups, students and teachers. No technical knowledge is needed.

What you’ll learn

  • What AI can now do, and why it matters for elections.
  • How to spot and check fake videos, voice notes, photos and news.
  • How to think before you forward, and how to correct false information kindly.
  • How to protect your personal information from election scams.
  • How political ads, targeting and AI chatbots work.
  • Your rights as a voter and where to get help.

How it works

Six short modules, about three and a half hours in total. Each lesson takes about five minutes on your phone, with quick practice activities and a short check at the end of each module.

This course is strictly non-partisan. It does not tell you who to vote for, and it treats every party and candidate the same. Practice activities use made-up countries, people and parties. Real examples come from fact-checkers and official sources, and cover fakes aimed at different sides of politics.

Certificate

Finish all six modules to earn a certificate of completion and a badge you can share.

Certificate and badge

Completed six modules on AI and elections, spotting and checking fakes, responsible sharing, protection from election scams, political ads and AI chatbots, and voters' rights and reporting, and passed each module check.
